Tomorrow, there are several marches happening in our area: a Tax March in Olympia, a Tax March in Seattle, and a related Black Lives Matter march in Seattle later in the day. First, read this article to understand the connection between racial justice and tax policy in the US: "The next battle for Black Lives Matter: economic justice." You might also be interested in this: "What we'd learn from Trump's tax returns."
Then, identify which march you'd like to attend and make plans. Call a friend, arrange a carpool, find the bus schedule or look up where to park.
Make a sign! Even a single piece of paper with a simple message like "Show us your tax returns" can give you a voice in the crowd, and gives you something to wave at the people who line the street where you march.
Make a couple phone calls to people with the power to subpeona Trump's tax returns:
Hi, my name is [name] and I'm a voter from [ZIP code or city]. I'm calling because I am concerned about the flow of money between Donald Trump, his business, and foreign governments. Please request his tax returns so the American people can have confidence that our president is not violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. Thank you.
