Dozens walk to help find a cure for cancer at Agawam’s Relay for Life

CONTACT THE AGAWAM POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 786-4767. ANC: DOZENS OF PEOPLE CONTINUE TO WALK IN AGAWAM TONIGHT — TO HELP FIND A CURE FOR CANCER. THE WEATHER MAY HAVE BEEN A LITTLE DREARY — BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP DOZENS FROM TAKING PART IN AGAWAM’S 7TH ANNUAL RELAY FOR LIFE. THE IMPORTANCE IS TO RAISE MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH AND TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE THAT THERE ARE SURVIVORS AND THAT THERE IS HELP AND THERE IS STUFF OUT THERE FOR WHAT EVER YOU MIGHT NEED. RELAY FOR LIFE IS THE ULTIMATE TEAM FUNDRAISER FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY THAT BRINGS COMMUNITIES TOGETHER TO FIGHT CANCER. IT’S THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S MOST SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER TO RAISE FUNDS TO IMPROVE CANCER SURVIVAL AN IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR CARETAKERS. RELAY FOR LIFE TEAMS TOOK LAPS AROUND THE TRACK AT THE SCHOOL STREET PARK IN AGAWAM SATURDAY — TO SYMBOLIZE THE ONGOING FIGHT AGAINST CANCER. DESPITE THE RAIN, DOZENS OF PEOPLE ARE WALKING FOR FAMILY-MEMBERS AND FRIENDS WHO ARE BATTLING CANCER, AND REMEMBERING THOSE THEY LOST. I’M A CANCER SURVIVOR AND I’VE MADE IT THROUGH BLADDER CANCER, SO I WALK IN RESPONSE TO ALL THE OTHER CANCER VICTIMS IN THE AREA. THIS YEAR’S RELAY FOR LIFE GOAL IN AGAWAM WAS TO RAISE 32-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR CANCER RESEARCH, SO FAR, THEY HAVE RAISED MORE THAN 53-THOUSAND. 22NEWS STORM TEAM METEROLIGST NICK BANNON WAS THE EMCEE FOR THIS
