Good morning, Sawyers. Today is Friday, February 21 and it is a “D”
Day. I’m Charlie Baldwin. I’m Abby Bravo. And here’s what you need to know. IN DISTRICT NEWS:
Parents of children who are eligible for Pre-K (4 years of age on or before December 1, 2020)
or Kindergarten (5 years of age on or before December 1, 2020), are encouraged to register
their child with the District. You can complete the registration at any school,
regardless of where they will be enrolled. Where and When? February 24 at Cahill from 9:30am to 2:30pm. February 25 at Morse from 9:00am to 2:00pm. February 26 at Mt. Marion from 9:30am to 2:30pm. February 27 at Riccardi from 9:00am to 2:00pm. If you have any questions, please call 845-247-6500
ext. 9211. In Junior and Senior High News: Lunch today is cheese or pepperoni pizza or
a Caesar salad. The soup of the day is southwestern corn chowder. The Junior High Computer Lab will be open
all day today including 9th period. Senior High Band – Tenor and Alto Saxophones,
period 6. All-County Junior High Chorus Baritones are
meeting 8th period. Permission slips for the Junior High snow
tubing trip to Hunter Mountain, along with $20 ticket payment, are due today to Ms. Duke
or Mr. Myer. Snowball is tonight from 7-10. Tickets are on sale today during lunch periods,
and you can also pay at the door. Anyone interested in getting or renewing their
passport can do so at the Saugerties Post office tomorrow from 9:30 to 2:30. Guidance has not received many purple permission
slips for the sophomore BOCES visitation trip on March 2. If you need another, stop by Senior High Guidance. All signed permission slips are due next Monday,
February 24. Snow Ball tickets are on sale today in the
cafeteria during lunch periods. They are $10 for non-Key Club members and
$5 for Key Club members. In Sports:
Congratulations to Sisi Silipo on her performance at yesterday’s Section 9 gymnastics meet,
where she earned a spot representing Section 9 at the State Championship next weekend on
Long Island. Way to go Sisi! Congratulations to both the boys’ and girls’
bowling teams for winning the Division 2 section championship yesterday. Both teams will now represent Section 9 in
the New York State Bowling Championship in Syracuse on March 13. Ccongratulations to the following bowlers:
Ashley Beaver- 3rd Highest game 226 Tyler Bodie 3rd Highest Series- 579
Lacey Shatzel- 2nd Highest Series 584 and Highest Game 267
Chad McPeek – Highest 3 Game Series -707 Tremendous all around effort for the Sawyer

a permanent part of our school with the purchase of an engraved commemorative brick that will
create a beautiful new patio area between the west school entrance and the playground. The cost of the bricks ranges from $100-$225. All bricks purchased by May 30 will be part
of the Patio Opening Celebration in September. The Mt. Marion PTA is hosting a Penny Social
tonight beginning at 5:30, and tickets will be called beginning at 6:30. Family BINGO night is Tuesday at 6:30. And finally, next Friday, February 28, is
